Course Description

In this course, students will learn how to engage with clients seeking help for substance use, utilizing a variety of appropriate counselling techniques.  Students will critically analyze ethical practices, conduct tailored assessments considering social and cultural contexts, and apply trauma-informed practices in their work with clients.

This course is a blended course. Students will learn online via Zoom with the instructor for 24 hours of the course; the other 16 hours will be instructor-supported and self-paced to complement the online lectures.
