Course Description

This course will introduce sketchbook drawing techniques that help the student to observe and draw subjects on location; a practice that builds visual vocabulary and refines drawing skills. Animal anatomy and drawing techniques will help the students to study and draw animal subjects with strong likeness and believability. Students will practice these techniques on three field trips. Students will also explore facial mechanics and expression; head tilts, and movements of the mouth and eyes will be studied to help strengthen the students' acting choices in their animation. Lastly, students will practice figurative gesture, silhouette, and form through a few traditional figure drawing labs.
