TDAN 1105 - Animation History 1
Course Description
Students will learn the historical background leading up to the industry's present state and scale of production. Students will be made aware of animation's unique rich artistic legacy. Significant technical advancements, artistic achievements, and their impact on the industry as we know it today will also be covered.
Various individual films and filmmakers will be studied in detail in order to provide a context for the principles of character animation, character development, and storytelling taught in the 2D and 3D Character Animation programs. This will result in students developing their animation vocabulary and storytelling terms, which will be demonstrated through the creation of a 15-minute oral presentation. The presentation will be a project created outside of class time.
