What you will learn
- Analyze retail performance along with customer behavior, market trends, and target audiences to inform operational changes, staffing needs, and store layout.
- Apply retail math, inventory management, profitability, pricing strategies, and operational effectiveness to support buying decisions and optimize sales performance.
- Discuss digital merchandising and product assortment strategies.
- Develop comprehensive sales strategies that integrate e-commerce operations, wholesale planning, and retail buying.
- Develop professional communication skills in buyer interactions, sales presentations, and negotiations.
What to expect
This part-time program uses a flexible, applied learning approach. Courses are delivered through a combination of in-person, blended, and online formats and can be taken in any order, individually, or complete all three courses to obtain the Award of Achievement.
Students can expect a culture of:
- Feedback: Learning to respond and offer feedback, amassing feedback from a variety of sources, and making it actionable.
- Individualized learning: A journey of self discovery, learning plans that include intentions and goals, check-ins and feedback, integration and implementation.
- Self-directed career development: Collecting classroom experiences to create portfolios, resumes, cover letters, and/or entrepreneurial skills; and an optional practicum.
- Community: Student learning groups that work together, industry introductions, and a program hub.

- English Studies 12 or equivalent recommended.
