Twice a year we get to celebrate students in CS that have been recognized with an award or scholarship.
VCC Foundation hosted the Student Awards at the event space at VCC’s Broadway Campus on April 24, where Dean of Continuing Studies, Adrian Lipsett, called the following students to the stage to take a bow for their achievements.
AMY DUNBAR: British Columbia Paralegal Association Scholarship for an outstanding student in the Paralegal Certificate program who is a member of the association.
GEORGE SING: GDI Integrated Facility Services Scholarship for an outstanding student enrolled in the Building Manager certificate program.
HEATHER CAMERON: Community Cohort Award is presented to a first-year student in the Fashion Design & Production Program. Nominated by their classmates, the community cohort Award is presented to a student that can be fair, approachable, collaborative, and confident speaking up.
PEARL LUI: C.S. Sewing and Drafting Award is presented to a first-year student in the Fashion Design & Production Program with the highest grades in a combination of four classes (FSHN 1111 Sewing Techniques 1, FSHN 1211 Sewing Techniques 2, FSHN 1109 Pattern Drafting 1 and FSHN 1209 Pattern Drafting 2).?
JUL OLIVA: Gabriel Levy Scholarship was created in memory of Gabriel Levy to benefit a student who excels scholastically in the Fashion Design & Production program.
OYAMADA: Peau De Loup Fashion Diversity Student Award sponsored by Amazon is presented to a graduating student from VCC’s Fashion Design & Production Diploma. The student will have demonstrated a strong aptitude for design, in particular pushing the boundaries in gender diverse fashion. They will have demonstrated this through their authenticity, creativity, passion, and design skills.
