Free eyeglasses for volunteers

The VCC Continuing Studies Optician Program needs eyeglass volunteers. Participating in this experience allows the VCC Optician students to gain real-life, hands-on practice in the lab.

Here is how it works:?

Each volunteer will be seen a minimum of 2 times for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, potentially by different students each time. You will need to sign up for an appointment for each of the visits.

You'll need to complete all required visits to receive your eyeglasses.

You'll need to complete a feedback survey on your experience right after each appointment. Completion of the survey is essential to student learning.

All volunteers will be required to sign a liability waiver form.

No eyeglasses will be dispensed after the lab is complete. You will need to be available for pickup during the allotted times (visit 2).

It is important to note that sometimes breakage occurs in the lab; if this happens, we will not be able to dispense eyeglasses to you and encourage you to try again for the next round.
