Exciting changes are coming to the VCC Paralegal Program starting Fall 2025!

It's an exciting time to be a Paralegal in BC - steps are underway to move toward licensing for BC Paralegals.  This supports both recognition and regulation in our profession.

The VCC Paralegal program has been working proactively in collaboration with industry leaders, to ensure our program continues to be responsive to the sector’s need – and graduates will be well-positioned in their career journeys.  We are pleased to announce that we are moving forward with program updates taking effect in Fall 2025, which ensure the continued recognition of VCC's Paralegal program(s) by the BC Paralegal Association.

There are updated course outcomes and content, and more consistency in course length. For Diploma students, the new program features a 6 year completion time, more required electives and a second practicum. For Certificate students, there is one Certificate option, and Awards of Achievement to indicate an area of expertise.

Current students can continue in their current program or transition to the new one–we highly recommend transitioning to the updated program. They will have no increase to tuition (except standard annual 2% increases).

New applicants with an approved application by June 30th, 2025 will pay old tuition rates for the duration of their studies, subject to the program's maximum time for completion, with standard annual 2% increases.

Future students with an approved application between July 1st 2025 and June 30th, 2026 will be eligible for discounted tuition (approximately $100 discount per course on new tuition rates).

As of July 1st, 2026, new students will be subject to updated tuition rates.
