Course Description
Throughout this course, students will examine the origins of Canadian law, tracing its development from historical roots to contemporary legal principles. Students will gain insight into the basic framework of Canadian law, understanding its structure and fundamental concepts. This includes basic procedures of litigation, concepts of administrative law and alternative dispute resolution. In addition, students explore the principles of Canadian law, including constitutional law, statutes, common law, civil law and equity, and learn to apply them in various legal contexts. Finally, students will examine the roles of key participants in the court system, from judges to lawyers, and understand their functions within the legal process.Prerequisites
