Lisa Gellert loves sharing her knowledge and experience with students and seeing fashion evolve through their eyes. In the fashion Industry, Lisa has used her talents as a creative director, art director, designer, illustrator, and textile print designer. Currently, as well as teaching, she takes on freelance projects and commissions.
Lisa’s education was in fine arts and fashion. She has seen the connection between drawing and conceptual design firsthand. Lisa is a graduate of Parsons School of Design, Helen Lefeaux School of Design and attended Emily Carr University. She credits inspiring teachers as being role models and mentors.
A recipient of an Industry Originator Award in 2016 for teaching, Lisa has taught some of Vancouver’s most successful designers. She encourages students to choose the fashion industry if they love design, making, and bringing what they imagine to life.
